is our reason for being here!
Ame is available for interactive presentations and engaging workshops!
Environmental Education Classes For All Ages
We offer a variety of programs for students that align with Ky Core Content/STEM/ Ky Environmental Science benchmarks and fulfill many scouting badges.
We welcome scouts who want to complete projects to earn awards or badges. Last year Girl Scout Troop 1830 built an outdoor enclosure for our box turtles.
We believe learning about agriculture and science is best learned by experiencing. We offer a hands on approach – whether you are milking a goat, looking at creek water under a microscope, or meeting one of our education ambassadors, we want you too make connections to the environment we all live in.
Interns and Students
We offer educational opportunities for college students and others who want to gain experience in wildlife biology, rehabilitation or organic agriculture. Our internships are flexible to meet your availability and Ame is happy to plan learning experiences to meet your education goals. Interns do not receive any compensation - we all work as volunteers.
Speaking Engagements for Community organizations
We are pleased to come give talks to local community groups; garden clubs, Sunday school classes, animal shelters and Lions Club are some of the places we have given talks. Please see our class list for classes or let us know what you would like to learn about.
Ame is available for consultations in organic gardening and farming; developing wildlife habitat and managing wildlife problems humanely.
Curriculum and Lesson Plans
Ame also writes curriculum for teachers and home-schools. You can check out her writing website.
All our programs have fees. 100% of these monies go directly back into our programs. Prices are available on the Class List page. Our education programs are an important way that we raise money to feed our animals and pay for medical care. Members receive a discount on classes and garden produce.
We offer personalized educational TOURS of the farm where you can learn about our organic agriculture, alternative energy, and wildlife habitat programs. Opportunities to meet and greet education animals, see the gardens and visit the pond. You can also specify a program from the class list to focus on. Please note: wildlife in our rehabilitation program is not on display however, you may be able to meet one of our education ambassadors. Cost $15/adults and $7.50 for children age 2-14.
We are not open to the public. All tours and educational programs are scheduled. Please call Ame to make an appointment or discuss class opportunities. 859-242-1037 or email her at firstname.lastname@example.org
